GOD'S WORD

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

God Is with Us Every Step of the Way! -

Good morning, Brothers and Sisters! I want to start off this morning by sharing a story with you. Once upon a time, there was a man who had a very difficult task ahead of him. He had been told by his elders that he must build a bridge spanning an entire river. He knew it would be a daunting task, as the river was wide and fast-moving.

But he also knew that with faith and perseverance, he could accomplish this feat. He set about doing the hard work of gathering materials, constructing the bridge, and getting it across the river. After months of labor, he had finally completed the bridge and it spanned the river!

The moral of this story is that no matter how daunting the task before us may seem, with faith and perseverance, we can overcome any challenge. This is the same message that we find in the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman in St. John 4: 1 - 54.

God, in His infinite wisdom, knew that in order to reach out to this woman, He needed to use someone who was not bound by society's rules. So He sent Jesus, who had no preconceived notions or prejudices about the woman. By showing her kindness and love, Jesus was able to reach her heart and change her life.

This story is a reminder to us that no matter who we are dealing with, God can use us to bring about transformation in their lives. We, too, can be agents of change if we approach others with love and kindness.

Furthermore, the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman serves as a reminder that God is in the business of redemption and restoration. Jesus had a conversation with this woman that ended with her being transformed and accepted by her own people. This is a reminder to us that no matter what kind of difficulties we find ourselves in, God can use us to bring about restoration and redemption in our own lives as well as in the lives of those around us.

Finally, this story also demonstrates that God works through relationship. We see how Jesus used His time with the woman to teach her deeper truths about faith and God's love for all people. This is a reminder to us that when it comes to our relationship with God, we must be willing to have conversations with Him and allow Him to speak to us through His Word.

Brothers and Sisters, no matter how daunting the task before us may seem, with faith and perseverance, we can accomplish anything. We have been given the opportunity to be agents of change as we share God's love with those around us. We can also experience redemption and restoration in our own lives through our relationship with God. So let us go forth with courage and faith knowing that God is with us every step of the way! As St. John 4:54 says, Jesus did not need anyone to testify about man, for he knew what was in man. Let us walk in that same knowledge today!
