GOD'S WORD

"I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the Lord;

they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope."

- Jeremiah 29:11 KJV

 This New Year is a Fresh Start for Us All

January 1, 2024

Reverend Danny Rhoades

My Beloved Brothers and Sisters, I come to you today with a story of transformation. It is a story of expectation and anticipation as we enter into the new year.

Just like the beautiful butterfly emerging from its cocoon, we too can experience a transformation in this new year. We can emerge from our struggles, our pain, and our challenges with a newfound strength and purpose.

Let me tell you a story about a young man who was facing a difficult situation. He had been unemployed for months and was struggling to make ends meet. Every month he grew more despondent and had almost given up hope. Then, one day, he heard a voice in his heart telling him that he could make it through this difficult time. He decided that he would not give up and that he would take action to improve his situation.

My Brothers and Sisters, the same can be true for us. We too can take action to improve our lives in this new year. The bible calls us to be resilient and to persevere when times are tough. In Philippians 4:13 it says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This means that with the help of God, we can be transformed into something new and beautiful.

We must also learn to be patient with ourselves as we work towards our goals. Change does not happen overnight, and it takes time and effort to get where we want to be. In James 1:4 it says, “But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” So, we must be patient and trust that God will bring about the transformation in His perfect timing.

Finally, we must have faith in ourselves and in God as we set out on this journey of transformation. We must trust that God will provide us with the strength and courage to take on the challenges of this new year and come out victorious on the other side. In Isaiah 41:10 it says, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

My Beloved Brothers and Sisters, let us step out with faith into this new year and let us allow ourselves to be transformed into something beautiful! This new year is a fresh start for us all - let's make it count! With faith in God, anything is possible - even a butterfly can fly!

Our Dear Heavenly Father, as we look to the New Year, let us remember the power of prayer. Through prayer, we can experience spiritual revival and renewal. We can maintain the joy of salvation in our lives, and we can bring about powerful transformation in our lives. Let us commit ourselves to prayer in the New Year and allow God’s spirit to guide us into a new season of life. I pray this in the name of our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ, Amen
