“Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his

angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies,

that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.”

Daniel 3:28 KJV

- The Power of Faith! -
November 29, 2023

Good morning, Brothers and Sisters! I remember a while back of seeing a familiar sight: a small child trying to stand up to a bully much larger than himself. I remembered of having the same struggles I went through when I was a kid, and this morning that brings me to the story of David and Goliath.

David and Goliath are an example of the power of faith in the face of overwhelming odds. David was small in stature, but he had a big faith in God. He was willing to stand up to Goliath, even though Goliath had weapons, armor, and the full backing of a powerful army. But David held onto his faith and didn't waver.

The same is true for us today. Even if the odds seem insurmountable, we can still have faith that God will provide. When faced with a challenge, it can be easy to succumb to fear and doubt. But if we draw strength from our faith in God, we can overcome any obstacle.

We have seen this truth throughout the Bible. When the Israelites were faced with Pharaoh's armies, they had faith that God would deliver them. When Daniel faced the lion's den, he trusted that God would protect him. And when Jesus faced the cross, he knew that his suffering would be rewarded with resurrection.

So Brothers and Sisters, never forget: no matter how daunting the challenge may be, you have the power to overcome it through your faith in God. As Paul said in Romans 8:37, "We are more than conquerors through him who loved us."

Brothers and Sisters when life throws obstacles in your path, remember David and Goliath. No matter how big your Goliath is, you can still overcome him with faith in the One who is bigger than any obstacle. "That's the power of faith!"
