GOD'S WORD

Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,

prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

 The Bride's Hands

January 8, 2023

Reverend Danny Rhoades

Good afternoon, Brothers and sisters!

I want to take a moment today to talk about the importance of the Bride's Hands. Before I start, let me share a personal story with you. I once had the privilege of attending a wedding in my family. It was a beautiful ceremony that celebrated the union of two beautiful souls. As I watched, something struck me as my eyes were drawn to the bride’s hands. They were so delicate and graceful, yet so powerful, as if they held the very fabric of reality in their grasp. It was then that I realized: The Bride’s Hands is a metaphor for how we are to live our lives.

We can learn so much from studying the Bride’s Hand. The Bible says in Isaiah 49:16, “Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.” This verse speaks to the power we have when we are in the Lord’s hands. We are graven upon His palms and He is always with us, no matter what life throws our way.

The Bride’s Hands also shows us the importance of being prepared and ready for the future. We can learn from Proverbs 3:5-6 which says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” We must be willing to put our faith in God and trust Him to lead us in our lives. We must be prepared for whatever He has in store for us.

Finally, the Bride’s Hands reminds us of our need to be humble and thankful for all that we have. In Luke 17:11-19, Jesus tells us the parable of the ten lepers who were healed by Him. He reminds us of our need for humility and gratitude when He says, “Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?” We must remember to be thankful for all that God has blessed us with and to never take His blessings for granted.

In conclusion, the Bride’s Hands is a powerful metaphor for how we should live our lives. We must trust in God’s hands to guide us, be prepared for whatever He has in store for us and remain humble and thankful for all that He has given us. As a bride trusts her groom to lead her down the aisle, let us trust in God to lead us through life.

So, Brothers and Sisters today, I urge you to keep your hands in the Lord’s and trust that He will show you the way.

Lord, fill us afresh with Your Spirit today and overflow us with Your healing stream so that when we are with anyone else, they will sense Your presence. Make us to be like a well of refreshing water flowing out to others. I know You see us through Your Son, Jesus. I pray others will see Jesus in us, even if they don't fully understand what it is they are seeing. I pray this in the name of our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ, Amen.
