God's Word

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Ephesians 6:17

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

My fellow brothers and sisters, we are gathered here today to discuss the power of faith and how it can drive us to do the seemingly impossible.

I want to start by telling you a story. There once was a small village of brave warriors who were preparing for a battle. When the day of the battle came, they realized their enemy was much larger and more powerful. Despite their fears, they decided to march forward

and face their foe. Never in history was there a more seemingly foolish plan of battle.

The brave warriors knew the odds were against them, yet they put their faith in God and marched forward. This is a great example of faith in action, and it can teach us about our own battles in life.

The first key point we should take away from this story is that faith can help us face our fears. When the brave warriors were preparing for battle, they were scared. But they put their faith in God and knew that He would protect them no matter what happened.

In the same way, when we are facing our own battles in life, we should put our faith in God and trust that He will guide us and protect us no matter what. The Bible tells us in Romans 8:31 “If God is for us, who can be against us?” So even when things seem impossible, we can trust that God will be with us and help us through it.

The second key point is that faith gives us courage. The brave warriors knew that they were outnumbered and outmatched, yet they still marched forward with courage. This is because they had faith in God and knew that He was by their side.

In the same way, when we have faith in God, we can be courageous in the face of our own battles. The Bible tells us in Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage”. So, no matter how difficult the battle may seem, we can have the courage to face it when we trust in God.

Finally, the third key point is that faith gives us hope. Even though the outcome of the battle was uncertain, the brave warriors had hope because of their faith in God.

In the same way, when we put our faith in God, we can find hope even in the darkest times. The Bible tells us in Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint”. So, no matter how bleak things may seem when we put our faith in God, we can always find hope.

My fellow brothers and sisters, never forget that faith can give us the courage to face our battles and hope to carry us through them. As the Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” So let us put our faith in God and march forward with courage and hope!
