"And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us.

God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him"

 God's Window

December 30, 2023

Reverend Danny Rhoades

Good morning, Brothers and Sisters.

In the late summer of 1983, I was on a plane to my next navy school, serving in the U.S. Navy. As we soared over the clouds, I saw a dazzling display of colors and shapes through the window. It felt like I was peeking through God's window and I was amazed and enchanted by the sight.

Today, I want to speak to you about the beauty of looking through God's window. It's a window that may not be easy to open up, but it will unlock a great number of blessings for you.

First, God's window allows us to see beyond our own limitations. The prophet Isaiah says in the book of Isaiah 40:31 that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. When we look through God's window, we are reminded that we can move mountains with our faith. We can do things that are seemingly impossible and that is why it is important for us to open up God's window and let him show us what is possible.

Second, God's window helps us to find peace. Throughout the Bible, we read stories of how God provides peace and protection for his people. In Psalm 46:10-11, we are told to “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" When we look through God's window, we can find peace and comfort knowing that God is always there for us.

And finally, God's window helps us to find joy. In Ecclesiastes 3:11, it says "He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end." When we look through God's window, we are reminded that we can still have joy despite our circumstances. We are reminded that in the midst of our struggles, we can still find joy and happiness.

As you look through God's window today, remember that the blessings he has for you are bigger than any limitations you may have. He will provide strength, peace, and joy if you just open up his window and let him show you what is possible.

Brothers and Sisters today, I challenge you to open up God's window and see all the beauty and abundance he has waiting for you. For when you open up God's window, you will experience the joy of truly living!

Thank You, God, that You never forget us. You always remember us and our situations, and You never ignore our cries to You when we are in need. We praise You in the middle of the struggles we face, knowing that worshiping You is our greatest weapon against the enemy of our soul. Help us to not just survive the attacks of the enemy, but to push the enemy back and crush him. This I pray in the name of our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ, Amen
