 Four Miraculous Events Took Place

December 26, 2023

Reverend Danny Rhoades

Good morning, my Beloved Brothers and Sisters. I’m thrilled to be here with you today to talk about a fantastic event that happened right after Jesus died. As you know, Jesus’ death was a very pivotal event in history.

Today, I want to talk about the four phenomenal events that happened just right after Jesus died. These events were nothing short of miraculous. Let’s take a look at them and explore their significance.

The first event was the tearing of the temple veil. This was a symbolic gesture indicating that God’s presence was now accessible to all. As 2 Corinthians 3:16 states, “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” Prior to Jesus’ death, access to God was only available to a select few. After Jesus died, the veil was torn – anyone could now approach God and receive His grace and mercy.

The second event was the resurrection of the saints. Matthew 27:52-53 states that many of the dead were resurrected and walked out of their tombs after Jesus had died. This event demonstrated God’s power and revealed His promise of eternal life to those who believe in Him.

The third event was an earthquake. I Matthew 27:51, we see that an earthquake shook the area when Jesus died. This earthquake symbolized the shaking of the foundations of our understanding as we were forced to reevaluate our beliefs in light of this powerful event.

The fourth event was the darkening of the sun. In Matthew 27:45, we see that the sun became dark when Jesus died. This symbolized the darkness of our sin and our need for redemption. It also symbolized the hope that comes with redemption – just as day follows night, we can have hope that our sins can be forgiven through Jesus’ death.

These four extraordinary events that occurred just right after Jesus died demonstrate God’s power and glory. They show us that, no matter what we may be going through in our lives, God is still in control and will bring us peace and understanding in due time.

My Beloved Brothers and Sisters, it is only through Jesus’ death that we can experience true freedom and hope for eternity. As Isaiah 53:5 states, by his wounds we are healed.  Let us never forget that just right after Jesus died, these four miraculous events took place – events that transformed our world ever.

So, my church family, remember this: hope is never far away even right after Jesus died.

Father, according to Your own will, You ministered with signs and wonders, various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit.  Therefore, we expect miracles to manifest during our times of worship.  Lord, just as You brought Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and outstretched arm, so we believe that You will manifest Your glory in our lives.  Lord Jesus, as You performed so many miracles during Your ministry, we rejoice that You said that we would do greater works than You did because You were going to the Father and were sending the Holy Spirit. We confess that we, the body of Christ, will do what Jesus did and we will move to the “greater things.” Lord, just as You turned water into wine, spoke and healed the ruler’s daughter, touched the casket and the dead man rose, called Lazarus from the dead, cast the demons out of Legion and healed the woman with the issue of blood; so we expect to have personal encounters with You in our public and private lives.  In Jesus’ Name,  we command financial increase for our lives.  We command the sick in our congregation to be made whole.  We command the deaf to hear, the mute to speak and the lame to walk.  We decree that Your marvelous works will follow us so that people will come to You confessing Jesus Christ, as their Lord and redeemer.  We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimonies, so Father, we thank You that every member of the body of Christ will have a one on one encounter with You so that they will have a testimony of Your power, authority, love, grace, healing and deliverance. I pray all of this in the name of our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ, Amen
