GOD'S WORD

Glory belongs to God, whose power is at work in us. By this power he can do infinitely more than we can ask or

imagine. Glory belongs to God in the church and in Christ Jesus for all time and eternity! Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21

"Don’t be afraid to take risks and follow your dreams."

Good morning, Brothers and Sisters! Today I am here to talk about the story of 1 Samuel Ch. 14 and 15. It is a timeless story that has been taught throughout generations, and I believe it still has lessons to teach us today.

Let me begin with a metaphor. Imagine that you are a runner in a race. You have trained hard and put in the time and effort to get yourself to the starting line. You are ready for the challenge that lies ahead, and you have faith that you can finish strong. Then, when the gun goes off, you take off running. But then the unexpected

happens you trip and fall. You stumble and feel embarrassed. You know that you have the potential to do better, but for some reason, you are stuck in the same place.

This is what happened to Saul in 1 Samuel Ch. 14 and 15. He had been chosen by God to be the first King of Israel, and he had the potential to do great things. But he stumbled and made mistakes along the way, and he got stuck in a place of failure and disappointment.

So, what can we learn from Saul's story? Well, first of all, we can learn that it is OK to make mistakes. We all stumble and fall at times, but that doesn't mean we are failures. Instead, it is important to learn from our mistakes and use them as steppingstones to become stronger and wiser. As James 1:2-4 says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance."

Second, we can learn that true strength comes from faith in God. Saul was not able to succeed because he relied on his own strength. But when he put his faith in God, he was able to accomplish great things. As 2 Chronicles 20:15 says, "Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s."

Finally, we can learn that God is always with us, no matter what. Even when Saul made mistakes, God never abandoned him. Instead, God was always by his side, offering guidance and support. As Deuteronomy 31:8 says, "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

So Brothers and Sisters today, I want to challenge you to have faith in God and trust in His strength instead of relying on your own abilities. Remember: when you stumble and fall, God will still be there to pick you up and help you reach your goals. It is only when you put your trust in Him that you will find true success.

In the words of 1 Corinthians 10:13: "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."

Brothers and Sisters, no matter where you are in life right now, don’t give up hope! God is with you every step of the way, and He has a plan for your future – a plan for success. So don’t be afraid to take risks and follow your dreams –
