Trust God and Remain Faithful to Him -

December 4, 2023

Good morning, everyone! I want to start out by talking about a story, that a personal pastor friend of mine told me. Years ago, he was working as a pastor in a small church. He was young and eager to make a difference and he was sure that he could be the one to do it. One day he told me about visiting an elderly woman in the church who was very sick. She told him something that he said that he has never forgotten. She said, “T.D., don’t forget the 12th prophecy in Hosea.” At the time he had no idea what she meant, but he never forgot her words.

Today I want us to look at the 12th prophecy in Hosea and how it has been fulfilled over the years. In particular, I want to focus on Hosea 10:1-15 and 11:20. In these passages, God makes a promise to the people of Israel that He will restore them and bring them back into His favor. This is a beautiful reminder of His faithfulness and His willingness to forgive even when we have strayed from Him.

The first key idea I want to discuss is that we can trust God to fulfill His promises. When God makes a promise, we can be sure that He will keep it. This is especially true when it comes to prophecy in the Bible. We can trust that whatever He has promised will come to pass. God is faithful and He will always keep His word.

The second key idea I want to talk about is that we must remain faithful and obedient to God in order to receive His blessings. Even though God is faithful and will keep His promises, we must also do our part in order to receive His blessings. We must remain obedient and devoted to Him if we want to experience His goodness in our lives.

The third key idea I want to discuss is that we must have faith that God will continue to fulfill His promises in the future. Just as God has fulfilled His promises in the past, He will continue to do so in the future. We must have faith that whatever He has promised will come true in due time.

Today as we reflect on the 12th prophecy in Hosea, let us remember that God is faithful, and He will fulfill His promises. We must have faith that He will continue to do so in the future and remain obedient to receive His blessings. So, my friends, trust God and remain faithful to Him and you will experience His goodness in your life. He is our faithful Father, and He will never leave us or forsake us. Amen.
