GOD'S WORD

"And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother PAnd he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live."

Deuteronomy 8:3 KJV

Take wise counsel, be humble and receptive to advice, and

follow through on the advice you have been given.
November 17, 2023

Good morning, Brothers and Sisters! Today I want to talk to you about the power of advice, and how it can help us to achieve success in our lives.

I remember when I was a young boy, a Primitive Baptist minister gave me some advice that has stuck with me my entire life. He said, “If you want to succeed in life, always listen to those that are wiser than you.” I never forgot that advice, and it has served me well throughout my career and life.

Today I want to talk to you about advice, and how it is an essential tool for success. I want to look at the story of Daniel in the Bible, and the advice he received from God when he was thrown into a den of lions.

First, I want to talk to you about seeking wise counsel. Daniel was a wise man, but he realized that he couldn’t do everything on his own. He sought out the wise counsel of God, and asked for His advice. We should take a lesson from Daniel here, and remember that it’s important to seek out the advice of those that are wiser than us.

Second, I want to talk to you about being humble and receptive to advice. Daniel was humble enough to listen to God’s counsel, and he was willing to put it into practice. Too often, people are not humble enough to accept advice from others, and this can lead to failure. We must be humble and receptive to the advice of those that are wiser than us if we want to be successful.

Finally, I want to talk to you about following through on the advice you have been given. Daniel was wise enough to act on God’s advice, and it saved him from the lions. We too must be wise enough to take action on the advice that we have been given if we want to see success in our lives.

The power of advice is an invaluable tool for success, and we can learn a lot from Daniel’s story in the Bible. Take wise counsel, be humble and receptive to advice, and follow through on the advice you have been given. That’s the key to success. As the saying goes, “Advice headed, Daniel called!”
