GOD'S WORD

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

-  1 Thessalonians 2:13 KJV

"Let’s make sure we keep our focus on

Jesus and His unfailing love for us."

Good morning My Brothers and Sisters. We have all heard the story of how Peter denied Jesus three times before the rooster crowed. Now, while he was bound with seven green withs and bound by new ropes, the Lord Jesus had mercy on him and forgave him.

Today, I want to talk to you about how being bound with seven green withs and bound by new ropes can be a source of motivation for us. We are all faced with difficult circumstances in life, but we must never forget that Jesus has given us the ultimate gift of grace and forgiveness.

My first key point is that we must never forget that Jesus has set us free from all bondage. In John 8:36, Jesus tells us that “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” This means that no matter what kind of bondage we find ourselves in, Jesus can free us from it. No matter how many green withs or new ropes we are bound with, Jesus has the power to break our chains and give us freedom.

My second key point is that we must remember that Jesus has given us a new purpose in life. In Romans 6:4, Paul tells us that “We were buried with him by baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” This means that being bound with seven green withs and bound by new ropes can be seen as a symbol of rebirth and renewal. It means that Jesus has given us a chance to start fresh and live our lives for a greater purpose.

My third key point is that we must never give up hope. In Isaiah 43:2, God says “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” This means that no matter what kind of bondage we are in, Jesus will be there with us every step of the way. He will give us strength and courage to stand strong and never give up hope.

My Brothers and Sisters today, I challenge you to remember that being bound with seven green withs and bound by new ropes can be a source of motivation if we remember that Jesus has set us free from all bondage, given us a new purpose in life, and never given up hope on us. Let’s make sure we keep our focus on Jesus and His unfailing love for us. Let’s replace our chains of bondage with a robe of righteousness–a robe of strength and courage to face our struggles with courage and faith!
